# Transfer a Vehicle to Another Account Move a vehicle to the right fleet with a clear request and acceptance process. Last updated: . A vehicle transfer moves a vehicle record from one Fleetr account to another. Use it when the fleet responsible for the vehicle changes. It is different from changing the assigned driver or sharing a tracking link. ## Create a Transfer Request 1. Ask the receiving account administrator for the exact destination **Account ID**. 2. Open the vehicle in its current account and go to **Danger Zone**. 3. Open the transfer form, enter **Target Account ID**, and click **Verify**. 4. Check the destination name and email in the preview. Correct the account selection if either is unexpected. 5. Add an optional reason and internal notes, then submit the request. 6. Check the transfer status. A normal customer request remains pending until an authorised recipient accepts it. You need transfer permission. The destination must differ from the current account, and a vehicle cannot have another pending customer transfer at the same time. If you lack the action, ask your account administrator to review your role. ## Accept or Reject an Incoming Transfer Open the transfer details from the transfer notification or available transfer link. Review the vehicle, source and destination accounts, initiator, and reason before choosing an action. - **Accept:** an authorised receiving-account user accepts the pending request; Fleetr completes the move to the destination account. - **Reject:** an authorised recipient declines the request and records the rejection reason. The vehicle is not moved by that request. After acceptance, open the vehicle from the destination account. Confirm the tracking state and review the account's subscription eligibility, operational settings, and who can access it. ## Cancel an Outgoing Transfer Open the pending transfer and use **Cancel** if the request is no longer needed or the destination is wrong. Cancellation applies to pending requests. To move a completed transfer back, arrange a new transfer with the account now responsible for the vehicle; cancellation does not undo a completed move. ## What Changes and What Remains The vehicle's owning account and associated service-provider relationship change. Fleetr moves the existing vehicle record rather than creating a new vehicle or resetting its history. Vehicle-linked records remain associated with that vehicle, so review what information the receiving account will be able to access before transferring it. A transfer is not a documented automatic migration of every account setting, user membership, invoice, or integration. Review driver assignments, geofences, notification rules, active sharing links, and integrations after the move instead of assuming they have been reconfigured. Revoke sharing links you no longer intend to keep active. ## Transfer Status Reference | Status | Meaning | Next action | |---|---|---| | Pending | The request is awaiting a decision | Recipient accepts or rejects; an authorised sender can cancel | | Completed | The vehicle has moved | Manage it from the destination account | | Rejected | The recipient declined | Review the reason before making a new request | | Cancelled | The pending request was withdrawn | Create a new request if a transfer is still required | ## Related Guides - [Fleet and Vehicle Dashboards](/docs/dashboards) - [Live Vehicle Tracking](/docs/live-tracking) - [Journeys, History, and Route Playback](/docs/journeys-playback) - [All customer guides](/docs)
