Notifications and Journey Digests

Choose the updates you need and how you want to receive them.

Last updated: .

Fleetr separates recorded vehicle activity from the messages sent about it. An event may exist in a vehicle's history even when no notification is delivered to you.

Account Settings and Personal Preferences

  1. An account administrator opens the account's Notification Settings and reviews which events and channels are enabled.
  2. Each user opens their personal Notification Preferences to choose how they receive the available events.
  3. Select the channels offered for each event and set a cooldown where repeated messages would be distracting.
  4. Save the settings and check them again if your plan or provider changes.

Available delivery channels include push, email, and SMS according to the plan and configuration. SMS also requires your service provider to have configured delivery. A disabled SMS control can therefore indicate either a plan restriction or missing provider setup.

Configure Notifications for Your Fleet

  1. Open the account's Notification Settings with an account administrator.
  2. Review the event groups: security and critical alerts, driving behaviour, device health, geofences, trip and ignition activity, fuel events, and reminders.
  3. For each event you need, enable the available delivery channels and choose a cooldown.
  4. Save and review the resulting settings before asking users to set their personal preferences.

Event availability still depends on hardware and configuration. Enabling a fuel or towing alert cannot make an unsupported tracker detect it.

Manage Your Own Notifications

Open your personal Notification Preferences, find an event, adjust the available push/email/SMS controls and cooldown, then save. Rows marked Account default inherit the account configuration; Custom indicates a personal override. A personal preference cannot enable a channel disabled at account level.

Personal notification preferences belong to your user and are not separate independent preference sets for every account. When you work across accounts, review how your choices interact with each account's available channels.

Use the personal Reset action to return to inherited account settings. The account settings Reset action has a different purpose: it restores that account's plan defaults. Review which page you are on before resetting.

Cooldowns

A cooldown reduces repeated notifications of the same configured event. Options range from No cooldown through minutes and hours up to 24 hours. For example, a 30-minute cooldown is useful when frequent speed alerts would otherwise overwhelm the recipient. It controls notification frequency; it does not erase the underlying activity from the vehicle's records.

Notification Inbox

Open the notification bell or Notifications page to review messages in the application. You can mark an item read or unread, mark all read, or clear the inbox. Reviewing a notification does not change the vehicle's physical state or resolve its underlying issue.

Journey Digest Emails

Journey digests go to users attached to the account as Account Administrators, separately from individual event alerts. They summarise journey activity and include a PDF report attachment.

DigestPeriod coveredScheduled delivery in the account timezone
DailyPrevious dayEvery day at 8:00 am
WeeklyPrevious weekMonday at 8:00 am
MonthlyPrevious monthFirst day of the month at 8:00 am

Periods with no journeys are skipped. Confirm that you are an account administrator and that your email address is correct if a digest does not arrive. Digests can also be delivered through WhatsApp when the recipient has a phone number and the service is enabled.

For a custom reporting period or one of the 14 report types, generate an on-demand Fleet Report. Changing a report's filters does not schedule a new digest.

When an Alert Does Not Arrive

First check whether the event was recorded for the vehicle. Then check the account settings, your personal preferences, plan eligibility, cooldown, and destination details. For push delivery, allow notifications on your device; for email, check spam filtering. A tracker that did not report an event cannot trigger a notification for that missing event.
