Send and Review Vehicle Commands
Use supported tracker controls and check what happened after sending them.
Last updated: .
From the vehicle page, you can send commands to supported devices:
- Request location update — Ask the tracker to report a fresh position
- Disable engine — Remotely immobilise the vehicle (for supported devices with relay wiring)
- Enable engine — Restore engine function
Important: Engine disable/enable commands require the device to be wired to the vehicle's relay. Contact your installer if you're unsure whether your device supports this.
Open Commands to review the command history after sending an instruction. Sending or queuing a command does not prove that the vehicle executed it: connectivity, device support, and wiring all affect the outcome. Check the returned status and subsequent telemetry. Only use immobilisation under safe conditions with the vehicle stationary and the installation verified.
Send and Check a Command
- Open the intended vehicle and confirm its registration and attached tracker.
- Check the device's communication status and the time of its latest report.
- Open Commands and choose an available action. Read any confirmation before submitting.
- Review the new history entry, including its status, queued time, resolved time, and response where available.
- Check the next device update or physical vehicle state to confirm the expected result.
Controls can be disabled while another command is pending. Wait for its outcome before trying again. Avoid repeatedly sending the same instruction while the tracker is offline: a pending instruction and a successfully executed instruction are different states.
Location Requests and Engine Controls
A location request asks a compatible device for another update; it cannot force GPS reception in a place where satellite signals are unavailable. Engine enable and disable depend on the model and the relay installation. Confirm the installation and safe conditions with your installer before using these controls.
If a command resolves with an error or no useful device response, record its time and status for support. Do not infer successful immobilisation from a changed button label alone.
